Update from Buchanan County Public Health Director

Buchanan County Residents,

Buchanan County Public Health and Buchanan County Primary Care offices had administered all but 60 of the Prime (first) doses by the end of Friday. This far exceeded the 80% threshold, just as we had anticipated. Those 60 doses are scheduled to be administered on 2-16-21. We WILL have additional first doses available for people 65+ this week as planned. These vaccines will be administered by Buchanan County Primary Care offices and Wal-Mart Pharmacy. If you are 65 years or older and see a Buchanan County Provider you are already on their list. There is no need to contact them. If you have an out-of-county provider and they are not vaccinating their patients please contact Buchanan County Public Health at 319-332-0860 or by email at publichealth@co.buchanan.ia.us. We are working with Wal-Mart to provide vaccine for these residents. (Please note: today is a county holiday. We will not be in the office until tomorrow. Leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible.)

Sincerely,

Tai Burkhart, BCPH Director
