County Bid Proposals & Sales


Buchanan County is accepting sealed bid proposals at the Buchanan County Auditor's office until 9:10 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2020 for the rent of 152 acres more of less of farm land.
  • Three year lease.  
  • Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4), Section 25, Township 89 North (T89N), Range 9 West (R9W), West of the Fifth P.M.
  • CSR is 84
  • The operator will maintain reasonable soil fertility.
  • Payments are due March 1 and October 1, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
All bids shall be submitted on  bid proposal forms which can be obtained at the Buchanan County Auditor's office located at 210 5th Ave. NE, Independence from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or you may click on the link for the Farm Land Proposal Form.  Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope mailed or given to the Buchanan County Auditor's office not later than 9:00 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2020.

The words " Farmland Bid" must be written on the outside of the envelope.  Bids will be opened beginning at 9:10 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2020 in the Supervisors boardroom at the Buchanan County Courthouse.  Those submitting sealed bids will be allowed to raise their bids at that time.  The Board reserves the right to reject and and all bids.
